After completing his Master’s Degree in Philosophy, JF let his summer job become a passion and started designing Feature Films and TV Series. He also designed hundreds of commercials through the years for which he has received numerous awards including a GOLD CANNES LIONS AWARD in FILM CRAFT PRODUCTION DESIGN for his work on the 37 DAYS project (Atlantic). His latest film work includes THE MOTHER directed by Niki Caro and starring Jennifer Lopez which was Netflix’s most successful film of 2023. His latest work on a series includes Moira Walley Beckett’s ANNE WITH AN E for which he received 2 consecutive CSA AWARDS for BEST PRODUCTION DESIGN in 2019 and 2020.
He has been working internationally for many years in Europe (Germany, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Canary Islands), East and West Coast USA, Hawaii, South Africa, and New Zealand. He has an active US Work Visa and is member of the Art Director’s Guild (ADG IA800) and the Director’s Guild of Canada (DGC).
JF just finished designing CHIEF OF WAR, an ambitious historical series set in the 19th Century Hawaiian Kingdom for Apple TV+. The show was created by Thomas Pa’a Sibett and Jason Momoa who also plays the main character of the series. It was shot in Hawaii and New Zealand.
